  HARRY McCLAURY RITES CONDUCTED

  Funeral services for Harry McClaury, 87, were Saturday, Aug 13, at the Methodist church, the Rev. O.G. Brown officiating. Burial was in the Oberlin Cemetery, Corcoran-Ready funeral home in charge.

  McClaury died Wednesday at the Oberlin Hospital after a long illness.

  He was born to Sheldon and Jennie McClaury, December 14, 1872 at Ottawa, Ill. The family came to Kansas in 1880 and  a few years later moved to Decatur county where he grew to manhood.

  In 1893 he was married to Pearl Bell. To this union were born six children, one dying in infancy and a daughter dying four years ago. Mrs. McClaury died in 1920.

  March 18, 1925 he was married  to Edna Cramer. They had one son who died at birth.

  He taught school for nine years in the county then went into the carpentry  and contracting business. The Methodist church was erected under his direction.

  He became a member of the Methodist church at the age of 38 and was a very faithful member since. He was a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. He is survived by his wife Edna, four children, Myra, Lorna and Kenneth of the West Coast and Bernice of Beloit, three sisters, one brother and host of other relatives and friends.

  HARRY McCLAURY

  Walter Hermon (sic) McClaury, familiarly know as Harry McClaury, was born to Sheldon and Jennie McClaury in Ottawa, Ill, Dec 14, 1872 and died at the Oberlin hospital, Aug 10, after a long illness.

  He was the fourth child in the family of eleven. The family came to Kansas in 1880 and a few years later moved to  Decatur county where he grew to manhood.

  He was married in 1898 to Pearl Bell and to this union was born six children, one dying in infancy and a daughter dying four years ago. Mrs. McClaury died in 1920.

  March 19, 1925 he was married to Edna Cramer. They had one son who died at birth.

  He taught school for nine years in the county and then went into the carpentry and contracting business. Many homes and public buildings have been erected under his direction. One of them is the Methodist church.

  He became a member of the Methodist church at the age of 38 and has been a faithful member since. He taught Sunday school for more than 40 years.

  He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Edna, four children, Myra, Lorna, Kenneth of the West Coast and Berniece (sic) of Beloit, three sisters, on brother and a host of other relatives and friends.

  Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 13 at the Methodist church, the Rev. O.G. Brown officiating. Burial was in the Oberlin cemetery.
