Harvey Chapin Dead
Harvey Chapin was
born at Warsaw, New York, Sept. 18, 1827 and died April 11, 1913.
Was married Sept. 24, 1848 to Miss S. A. Jackson, who preceded him six years
ago to the other world. To this union were born seven children, two
daughters and five sons, all of whom survive him, viz: George T., J. Fremont,
J. Vinton, Will H., Huldah Simpson, Ellsworth N. and Eliza McDowell.
He moved from Palmyra Wis. in 1884 and has made his home here ever since.
He died after an illness of five days. All that loving hands could do
was done to relieve him but of no avail. He died at the home of his son
Fremont in Logan Township. His son Mont and daughter Lida were with him
when he passed away. His son, Will of Washington and daughter Huldah of
Scandia came too late to be with him in life.
He gave his heart to Christ when young and has been a fervent believer and
faithful Christian for the last six years. he was ready and willing to
go to join his loved ones in the great beyond."
