LESTER E. MORTON, son of Daniel and Ruth Morton, was born May 14, 1900 at
the farm home in Bassettville Township. He died June 30 (1968) at
the Decatur County Hospital. He had spent most of his life in
Decatur County.
On April 21, 1928, he was united in marriage to Nola E. Vernon. To
this union four chidlren were born, three sons and one daughter. He
was preceded in death by one infant son.
He leaves to mourn his passing his widow Nola; children, Choral Unger,
Luther and wife, Elaine, Doyle and wife, Beverly, and seven grandchildren,
Karla Unger, Tony, Jana, and Lynn Morton, Larry Morton, Joe and Millard
Kyte; three brothers, one sister and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from the Corcoran-Ready Funeral Home July
3 with the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Interment was in the
Bassettville Cemetery.
[His body was later moved into the Oberlin Cemetery.]
