L.L. (Bus) Hale Is Buried Sunday

Funeral services for Buffalo farmer-rancher L. L. (Bus) Hale, 64,
were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  in the Buffalo First Christian Church,
with Danny Cochran, lay minister, officiating.  Burial was in Willow
Creek Cemetery under the direction of LaMunyon Funeral Service.
    
Lowell Loutis Hale, son of Dr. W.B. and Effie [Townsend] Hale, was
born Jan. 12, 1913, in Decatur County, Kan.  The family moved to a farm
north of Buffalo and later moved to Hillsboro, Kan.
    
Hale graduated from Hillsboro High School and returned to a farm
near Buffalo.
    
He and Leora Carpenter were married Aug. 27, 1932, in Arnett.  They
were the parents of 3 children.
    
In addition to his farming interest, Hale drove a truck for a
road-building crew, and hauled groceries and cattle feed.  He also worked
in his brother Ivan's store and owned his own feed store at Rosston for a
time.
    
Survivors include his wife; a daughter Mrs. J.C. (Beverly) Short,
Stavanger, Norway; one son, Karey Hale, Sweeney, Texas; his mother of
Belle Plaine, Kan; 3 sisters, Vena Dickerhoff, Belle Plaine, Kan, Ena
Byrum, Long Beach, Calif, LaRena Bretz, Anaheim, Calif; 4 grandchildren,
and 2 great grandchildren.
    
Hale was preceded in death by his father, a son Duane, and one
brother, Ivan.
