IVA LEA JOHNSTON

IVA LEA JOHNSTON, was born Aug. 20, 1896 at
Portageville, Mo. She was a daughter of Emma and William Oliver
Marshall.
She died June 10, 1971, at the Sheridan County Hospital, Hoxie, following
several months of serious illness.
She and Oren F. Johnston were married May 21, 1924 at Hamilton, Iowa, and
moved to Oberlin at that time.
Preceding her in death were her parents; an infant brother; and Johnston who
died September 1961.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Braton, Kansas City, Mo.; twins,
Imogene Keenan, Jennings and Irmadene Harrison, Oberlin; one brother, James F.
Marshall, Oberlin; three sons-in-law; one grandson, Phillip Dean Vigo, Kansas
City, Kan. whom she reared as a son; four other grandsons and four
granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
Services were June 13 at Corcorcan Ready Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas
Smith officiating. Interment was in Oberlin Cemetery.
