Pioneer Dies
Word was recieved by relatives Saturday [May 14, 1938] that Mr. Paul Haas
had passed away in Topeka that day. The body was brought to Oberlin where
funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and interment made in the Traer
cemetery. Mr Haas with his wife [Thresia Palmer] came to Decatur County in
1884, homesteaded near Traer, where he reared a family and where he lived
until 1930 when, because of ill health was taken to the State Hospital at
Topeka for medical treatment.
