William Morton
From the Oberlin Herald Feb. 28, 1895
DEAD: -- At Lorneta, Texas, January 27
WILLIAM MORTON, aged 66 years and 5 months.
He came to this country from the State of Ohio
in 1879; he and his family have made Decatur County their home since that
date. Mr. Morton was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was also a
member of the Grand Army Post; he was buried in Masonic honors. He
leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss, but the Lord doeth all
things well; he talked about the future and said he was prepared to go to
his home across the river. May we all be prepared to go when He that
calleth His children home shall say "come unto me all ye that are
heavy laden and I will give your rest"
From the Oberlin Opinion Feb. 1, 1895
