Marilda BELLEAU was born, January 17, 1903, at Damar, Kansas, to Joe and Delia (ST. PETER) BRIN. She passed away on Monday, August 28, 2000. at the Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony Campus, Hays, Kansas, at the age of 97 years, seven months, and eleven days.
On February 22, 1925, she was united in marriage with William J. BELLEAU in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Damar, Kansas. He passed away in 1970.
A longtime area resident and homemaker, Marilda was a resident of Sealye House in Hill City for one year and eight months. She loved to play bridge, to read, and to crochet. Marilda was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church in Hill City. She was also a member of the Altar Society and a member of the bridge club.
Survivors include: two daughters, Alvena WEBB of Scottsdale, Arizona and Ida BERNATT of Landcaster, California; one son, Nels BELLEAU of Hill City; a sister, Olive Marcotte, Hays; eight grandsons and one granddaughter; eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Marilda will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for many years to come.
A wake service is planned for 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2000, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City. Funeral services will also be held at the local church and are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2000. Officiating are Father Don MCCARTHY and Father Bill KILIAN. Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hill City.
