Glenn "Moon" COKELEY, 72, of Hill City passed away Thursday, December 30, 1999 at the Graham County Hospital in Hill City. He was born December 16, 1927 at Gridley, Kansas, the son of Clarence Nelson ad Hazel Irene (POVENMIRE) COKELEY, Sr.
Moon was a heavy equipment operator and a longtime Hill City resident. He married Pearl Walters HUGHLEY on May 2, 1963. She died on March 4, 1992. Mr. COKELEY was also preceded in death by his father; his wife; one sister; one brother; his step-son-in-law; and one step-grandson.
He is survived by his mother, Hazel I. COKELEY of Palco, Kansas; a step-daughter, Joan HUTTON of Hill City; two brothers, Clarence "Nut" COKELEY, Jr. of Liberal and Ronald COKELEY of Hill City; three sisters Illa BALTHAZOR, Palco, Charlene MCBRIDE of Austin, Texas, and Jo Ann PHILLIPS of WaKeeney; seven step-grandchildren and a host of step-great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at Spencer Chapel of Hill City with Howard Guidry officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Palco; and memorials were suggested to the Graham County Hospital.
