Betty Lee Johnson:

Betty Lee Johnson, 84, Abilene, formerly of Hill City, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Memorial Hospital, Abilene. She was born April 16, 1924, in Morland to Arthur and Folsom Mamie (Born) Strong.

She married Eugene V. Johnson on May 7, 1941, in Hays. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2006.

Survivors include a son, Larry Johnson, a daughter, Charlene Cook, two brothers, Don Strong, and Bob Strong, and two grandsons, Matthew and Ben Cook.

She was preceded in death by a son, Frank.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City; private internment will take place.
