STULL, Wendell P. The Hill City Times -- Hill City, August 30, 2000
Wendell P. STULL, a resident of Chapman, Kansas, passed away at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, Kansas, on Tuesday morning, August 29, 2000, at the age of 80.
Wendell was born November 26, 1919 at Palco, Kansas. His parents were Azel and Thelma (GLASGOW) STULL. He attended Palco Grade School and graduated from the Palco High School in 1939. He attended Ft. Hays State College and received a B.S. degree.

He was married to Dorothy V. PRICER on December 27, 1941, at the Methodist parsonage in Palco, KS. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942; he served 3 1/2 years in Africa and Italy; and he was discharged in 1945.
He returned to Ft. Hays State College, where he obtained his Master's Degree. He coached and taught at Holyrood, KS for 13 1/2 years. The family moved to Chapman in 1961, and he coached and taught at Chapman High School. He was the coach of the 1965 State Championship Basketball Team, and he was the Athletic Director until his retirement on June 30, 1985.

He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and traveling. He was a member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge, Holyrood Order of the Easter Star, life member of the N.E.A., Chapman American Legion Post No. 240, and the Chapman United Methodist Church in Chapman.

His wife, Dorothy, of their home, survives him; and a son, Ronald STULL of Topeka, KS; one sister, Wanda BRAUN of Russell, KS; and a step-sister, Janice SAGE of Grandbury, Texas; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rex, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held at the Chapman United Methodist Church in Chapman, Kansas on Friday, September 1, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Kenneth Trickle, Jr., will officiate. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Palco, KS, that afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
The Londeen Funeral Chapel will be open for visitation from Thursday morning until Friday morning. Memorials may be given to the Chapman United Methodist Church or the memorial of the donor's choice. Memorials may be sent in care of the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman, KS 67431.
