COUNTY FORMATION

Although established in 1867, Hodgeman County was not officially organized until 1879. It was named in honor of Amos Hodgman, a member of the 7th Regiment Kansas Volunteer Cavalry.

Jetmore (formerly known as Buckner) is the County Seat.
