Thomas/Tom Pounds was visiting family members in Jewel Co. (Prairie and Buffalo
Townships) in late 1907 or early 1908. This would probably be like a community
news column in the Jewel County Republican newspaper. Family members were Amos
Pounds, James Pounds, Henry Pounds, Charlie Pounds, John Wallace, Theodore
Cooper.
He could've possibly died there and there might be an obituary or death record
somewhere.
Thanks.

I am looking for any information on Joseph Hile Thornburg family from 1879 on to
1930 and on to 2004. I know he had two brothers William and John but they
seemingly disappeared before 1880. His male children were Harley, Franklin,
Mines and Woodie( died at age 2). I do have census data on this family but Mines
seems to have disappeared in history
and I am trying to locate info on him as well as death notices etc. concerning
the family.

I am in desperate need of help---MyGGGrandfather Joseph Wyscaver was in Ross Co.
Ohio, in 1850 with his large family. The next time I find him? is in 1880
Washington, Jewell Co. KS living as a boarder to S. Underwood. His wife Lucretia
is in Richland, Jewell Co. KS with her son-in-law John Edgar and family. Next
door to them is John Wisscaver, who I assume is Joseph and Lucretia's son. My
GGrandfather George was in St. Claire Jewell Co. Ks in 1880. Can anyone help me
----where was Joseph and Lucretia buried?/?anything.

The Kansas State Historical Society has newspaper microfilms available for inter
library loan. Here is a link to the search page. Just search on Jewell County
for the time period of 1941 to 1978. You will see that two papers were published
during that time period.
http://www.kshs.org/library/news.htm
If you are unable to interlibrary loan the films, you can pay a fee to have the
KSHS staff do the lookups for you. Take a look at this link for their
policies
http://www.kshs.org/contact/ask_question.htm
Another approach is to see what libraries are located in Jewell County and
contact them. Some times they have copies of the newspaper microfilms and will
do lookup for you.
Good Luck

Alonzo's parents. My email address has changed and I could not see how to update
