Adolf Roenigk's
Contribution
To the War Effort

Lincoln Republican, 9 May 1918

Adolf Roenigk of Lincoln, the old hero who was wounded just west of Russell by the Indians in the raid May 29, 1869, has lately sent to the war department a large number of views of the river Rhine in Germany, showing bridges, etc. Mr. Roenigk was born in Germany, but is a thorogoing [sic] American. Sometime ago when the government called for needed lenses, he sent his valuable field glasses. – Judge Ruppenthal in Luray Herald
