BEULAH F. ATKINSON
Beulah F. Atkinson, 94, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at the Prairie Senior Living Complex, Colby, Kansas. She was born Aug. 4, 1906, in Atwood, Kansas to Melvin H. and Flora Ellen (Ward) Standley. Survivors: A son, Stan, Fort Collins, Colo.; a sister, Verna Dell Crouse, Oakley; five grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: Her husband, Bailey O. Atkinson, a son, Gale, a daughter, Joy Barlow, two brothers, Ray Standley and Aubrey Standley, and three sisters, Hazel Cook, Daisy Latham and Lila Penn.

George R. Buss, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at Graham County Hospital, Hill City, KS. Born: Oct. 2, 1918, in rural Logan County, Kansas to Frank and Flora O. (Rouse) Buss. Survivors: Two sons, Frank, Plainville, and Robert, rural Bogue; two daughters, Beverly Michael, Hill City, and Kimberly Hyde, Penokee; a sister, Juanita McIntosh, Dunkerton, Iowa; and seven grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: His wife, Shirley J. (Randall) Buss, two sisters, Lucille Lucas and Charlotte Miller.

Thressa L. Eaton, 83, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at the Heritage Senior Home, Grand Junction, Colo. Born: Sept. 17, 1917, in Concordia, Kansas to Leroy and Mary Josephine (Marcotte) Carr. Survivors: Three sons, Keith E., Newton, Larry E., Shattuck, Okla., and Gary L., Oakley; a daughter, Marietta G. Martin, Grand Junction, Colo.; a brother, Albert R. "Johnny" Carr, Wichita; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: Her husband, Roy E. Eaton on April 2, 1993; and by a brother, Harvey Carr; three sisters, Bertha Carr, Bernitha Carr and Mildred Lemke; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.

Donald Fechner, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Colby, Kansas, to Charles Vernor and Thelma Irene (Walker) Fechner. Ida Mae Jording, 65, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at the Community Hospital. Born: March 16, 1935, in Logan County, Kansas, to Thomas N. and Blanche (Farr) McGuire. Survivors: Her husband, Elwood Dean Jording, McCook; a son, Gregory, McCook; and a brother, Harlyn McGuire, Perry, Iowa. Preceded in Death by: A brother, Loy Thomas McGuire.

ROBERTA O. KEMP
Roberta O. Kemp, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at Hays Medical Center. Born: Sept. 16, 1917, in McPherson, Kansas, to John and Laura Mae (Moore) Waldmeier. Survivors: A son, Bill, Grandview, Mo.; two daughters, Shirley M. Fischer, Redwood City, Calif., and Charlotte G. Tessaro, Colby; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: Her husband, Woodrow Kemp, two brothers, James and Lester Waldmeier, and three sisters, Lula Enos, Vida Council and Hazel Koons.

CHARLES "CHUCK" LAMOREUX
Charles "Chuck" Lamoreux, 78, Shawnee, died April 9, 2002. He was born May 13, 1923, in Oakley, to Drew and Frances Lamoreux. Chuck graduated from Hays High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He served as a Lt. Colonel in the Army during World War II in the Pacific. In 1945, he married Doris Peirano. They operated Lamoreux Motors Dealership in Stockton before moving to Shawnee in 1960. They were independent newspaper carriers of the Kansas City Star for 20 years and retired during the 1980's. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his siblings; and his wife, Doris. Survivors include: his children and their spouses, Gary and Robbie Lamoreux, Baldwin, Sherry and Mark Humphrey, Stilwell, and Clark and Kristi Lamoreux, Kansas City, Missouri; and eight grandchildren. The funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on April 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Shawnee. Entombment was in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities. The Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee was in charge of arrangements.

Martha M. Ottken, 100, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at the Logan County Hospital Long Term Care Unit. Born: Feb. 27, 1900, in Ellis County, Kansas, to Frank and Henrietta (King) Huber. Survivors: A son, Roy, Topeka; a daughter, Dorothy Armstrong, Quinter; a sister, Freda Fries, Kirksville, Mo.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Preceded in Death by: Her husband, Arthur Ottken; an infant son, Wayne, three brothers, Frank, Frederick and Arnold Huber, three sisters, Marie Gallison, Edith York and Minnie Wentling, and a grandson.

Catharine A. "Kay" Repshire, 59, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at her home. Born: June 16, 1940, in Crowley County, Colo., to Otto L. and Vera Josephine (Rowland) Pfeiff. Survivors: her husband, Wane Repshire, Russell Springs; two sons, Gary Wane, Colby, and James, Edgerton; three daughters, Nancy K. Frei, Alva, Okla., Debbie Anderson, Kiowa, and Judy A. Repshire, Oakley; two brothers, Dick Pfeiff, Breckenridge, Texas, and Bob Pfeiff, Winona; three sisters, Wilmina Adair, Sedalia, Colo., Helen Adair, Burke, Va., and Emma Wilson, Olney Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
