| Obituary of F. WAYNE HOLECEK |
| F. Wayne Holecek, 85, a native of Burns,
died June 10, 2000, at Cedars Retirement Community, McPherson. He had been a resident of the retirement center since 1996, following the death of his wife, Leona. Born May 25, 1915, in Marion County, he was the son of the late James and Emma Holecek. He graduated from Southwestern College, Winfield, and in 1938 was married to Leona Kleiber, also a native of Marion County. They established their home at McPherson. An insurance and real estate agent, he retired at the age of 77. He was active in the community and in the First Baptist Church where he had held many official positions. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Hill of Dodge City; son, John Holecek, Greeley, Colo.; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held Tuesday afternoon at First Baptist Church, McPherson. Memorials have been established in his name at the church and at the retirement center. |
