Obituary of HENRY G. KLEIN
Henry G. Klein, 86, well known Marion resident and former farmer, died July 25, 2000, at St. Luke Hospital. 
Born Dec. 2, 1913, at Durham, he was the son of George and Anna (Geis) Klein. He grew up in the Durham community. 
On Feb. 12, 1936, he was married to Olinda Brunner at Durham. 
From 1943 until 1967 they lived and farmed south of Marion, moving into Marion in 1967. In addition to farming, he worked at Lynn's Farm Equipment and for the ASCS district office in Marion. 
A lifelong Lutheran, he was confirmed May 6, 1928, at Trinity Church in Durham and at the time of his death was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church at Marion. He served the church in many capacities and held several offices over the years. 
His favorite hobby was pitching horseshoes, a game he enjoyed for decades. He also enjoyed watching sports on television. 
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lester, William, Edward, and George; and two sisters, Inez Miller and Lillie Hiebert; he is survived by his wife, Olinda, of the home; four daughters, Joan Bowers and Kathleen Goentzel, both of Marion, Arlene Bowers of Augusta, and Henrietta Chestnut of Marquette; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. 
Funeral services were held Saturday at the church with Pastor John Ryding officiating. Julie Krich was the organist. 
Casket bearers were Michael Bowers, Linda Deiter, Jock Bowers, Jeffrey Goentzel, Christopher Stinchcomb, and Blaine Stinchcomb Jr. 
Burial was in Marion Cemetery. 
A memorial fund has been established in his name at the church.
