Obituary of ELIZABETH SILL |
Mrs. Simon Sill Passed Away Friday Funeral Services Were Held For Pioneer Citizen Who lived In Lincolnville, Marion Communities Entire Life Mrs. Simon sill passed away Friday at the Marion hospital. Rev. S. D. Hower of the Evangelical U. B. Church assisted by Dr. E. N. Duty conducted the memorial services at the Thompson Funeral Home Tuesday, July 5 at 10:00 a.m. Miss Mildred Garrison sang Near To the Heart of God and No Night There. Mrs. David W. Wheeler played the Piano accompaniment. Mrs. Floyd Padgett and Mrs. Ben Ireland cared for the flowers. Interment was in the Marion Cemetery with Earl Kreuter, Edwin G. Beu, Floyd Padgett, Frank Soyez, Alex Case and Harvey Hett as pallbearers. Elizabeth, daughter of Caroline and Conrad Kieferlie was born in Scranton, Pa., Nov. 27, 1961 and passed away at Marion, Kansas, July 1, 1949 at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 4 days. On May, 8 1881 she was united in marriage to Simon Sill of Lincolnville, Kansas where they made their home until 1926. To this union one child was born. Mrs. Sill united with the Evangelical church of Lincolnville in 1907, later transferring to the Evangelical church of Marion where she remained at member until her death. Mrs. Sill was in poor health much of her life but in spit of her afflictions, she loved and cherished her home. She was a great lover of flowers and as long as she was able to care for them, has many about her home. In June, 1926, the Sill�s sold their home in Lincolnville and purchased on in Marion to be near their only daughter, Mrs. E. J. Buckley and family but in 1932 Mr. Sill preceded her in death. Failing in health herself Mrs. Sill was forced to give up her own home a few years ago and went to live with her daughter where she was cared for until a few hours before he death in Marion Hospital. Besides being an ardent home maker and flower lover, Mrs. Sill was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter and husband, Mr. And Mrs. E. J. Buckley, one sister, Mrs Carrie Schlehuber, Hillsboro, two granddaughters, Mrs. Bryan Bell and Mrs. Alfred Hiebert and on great-grandson, Bob Hiebert, all of Marion, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. |
