Obituary of NELLIE B. FRIESEN |
Nellie B. Friesen, 102, of Goessel, died
Oct. 28, 2000, at Bethesda Home in Goessel. She was born May 18, 1898, at Clark County, the daughter of Isaac Wesley and Iona Edith (Boone) Brown. She lived in various towns in Kansas and was a teacher and homemaker. She taught in a one-room school and moved to Goessel in 1973. She married Abe Friesen on March 25, 1928, at Wichita. He died Dec. 22, 1972. She was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include two daughters, Joan Unruh of McPherson, and Mary I. Christie of Ottawa; sisters, Mary Ritter of Ashland, and Eunice Thomas of Indiana; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Services were held Oct. 31 at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel with Rev. Mark Wiens officiating. Burial was at Halstead Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established with Bethesda Home in Goessel. |
