Obituary of NORMAN L. HAEFNER

Norman L. Haefner, 75, pipefitter, died Dec. 20, 2000, at McPherson Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 8, 1925, at Lincolnville, he was the son of the late George and Frances (Schrorer) Haefner.
He graduated from Lost Springs High School in 1944.
On Dec. 23, 1948, he was married to Clarice Elsie Unruh at Haven. She died March 17, 2000.
He had worked as a mechanic for Miller-Kennedy Motors and was a truck driver for Kansas Transport before going to work for National Cooperative Refinery at McPherson. He held various positions, and at the time of his retirement in 1987 after 30 years of experienced loyal duty he was pipefitter leaderman for the refinery corporation.
He was a member of the American Legion; Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers Union; and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, all at McPherson Funeral services were held at the church Wednesday afternoon (today) with burial in McPherson Cemetery.
Survivors include his brother, Ted Haefner of Lincolnville; daughters, Sharon Balzer of Mesa, Ariz., and Carol Weber of York Springs, Pa.; sister, Irene Corey of Herington; two granddaughters; two step-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and one step-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sister, Esther Haefner; and brothers George, Harold, Henry, Otto, and Art.
A memorial fund has been established in his name at the church.
