Obituary of WADE KEITH ROBERTSON |
Wade Keith Robertson, 61, died May 29,
2000, at his residence in Manhattan following an extended illness. A son of Wesley and Ruth Lucille (Richmond) Robertson, he was born Sept. 18, 1938, at Hillsboro. He grew up in Marion, graduating from Marion High School in 1957 and from Washburn University with a bachelor's degree in business and marketing. Robertson was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity at Washburn. He was a lifelong fan of the Marion High School Warriors and the Kansas State University Wildcats He was a fund of information about MHS athletes and athletic accomplishments. A marketing representative for petroleum companies, he had worked for Skelly Oil Co. and Getty Oil Co before joining A.E. West Petroleum Co., retiring in the summer of 1999. A member of First Presbyterian Church and Manhattan Country Club, he had been a member of Manhattan Optimist Club. On July 30, 1965, he was married to Claudia McCroskey in Kansas City, Mo. She survives, at home. Other survivors include one daughter, Mary Courtney Bolte and her husband, Ken, of Mulvane; son, Timothy Niles Robertson, and his wife, Monica, Overland Park; two grandchildren; two brothers, Larry of Marion and Dennis of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday morning at First Presbyterian Church with burial in Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan. Memorial contributions are suggested to Homecare and Hospice Foundation. |
