Inscribed on the Roll of Ohio at the rate of 50 dollards 00 cents per annum to commence on the 4th day of March, 1831.

Certificate of pension issued the 24 day of Aug 1833 and sent to John Woods, Hamilton, B.C. Ohio

Under the act of the 6th of April 1838, entitle "An Act directing the transfer of money remaining unclaimed by certain Pensioners, and authorizing the payment of the same at the Treasury of the United States," and the third section of the Act of August 23, 1842, extending the time within which pensioners may receive their pensions from the pension agents, the child of John Curry, dec'd, a Pensioner on the Roll of the Ohio agency, at the rate of Fifty Dollars per annum, under the law of the 7th June 1832, has been paid at this Department, from the 4th of March 1835 to the 27th Aug 1835.

On the nineteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two personally appeared before the Honorable the Judges of the Court of Common Please in and for the county of Preble in the State of Ohio John Curry, aged eighty two years a resident of the county aforesaid was being first duly sworn according to the law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June seventh eighteen hundred and thirty two.

That in March seventeen hundred and seventy six, he enlisted in Westmoreland County in the state of Pennsylvania for one year in Captain Miller's company of Rangers of Colonel McCoy's regiment, he was engaged until sometim in December following in defending the frontier settlements against the indians who were at that time committing depradations upon the white settlements about the last of December he was discharged by Captain Miller having served more than nine months. In May seventeen hundred seventy seven deponent volunteered to serve a two months tour under Captain McGuffie of Colonel Pomeroy's regiment in Westmoreland County during this tour deponent was engaged in scouts against the indians and in burying the dead he also assisted to build Fort Leganier near the east corner of Westmoreland County as soon as this tour expired doponent immediatly volunteered to serve two months longer under Captain Knox of Colonel Pomeroy's regming -- he was engaged in scounting parties against the indians and in mounting guard at Lochuns Mill at the end of this two month deponent was discharged by CaptainKnox. In February seventeen hundred and seventy eight he volunteered and served a two months tour against the indians on the frontier of Pennsylvania under Lieutenant McDowel General Hand commanded the expedition in person during this tour he marched through the indian country to the waters of Big Beaver he assisted in taking two indian towns. Deponent can prove his service by his brother James Curry who was in the service with him in every tour except when he assisted to build Fort Leganier. He know of no other witnesses living by whom he can prove his service but he is well known to many citizins who reside in the county of Preble and by whom he was engaged in building Fort Leganier and from my present knowledge I certifiy that the said John Curry did serve as he has stated in his declaration for the time of fifteen months during the war of the revolution

I John Woods of Butler County Ohio do hereby certify that I have known James Curry [as neighbors] & more to the above certificat for several yars & that he has always maintained good character for truth. I verify and I believe his statement es entitled to full credit.

and the said Court do hereby declare their opinion after the investigation of this matter and after putting the interogators prescribed by the war department that the above named application was a revolutionary soldier and served as he states, and the court further certifies that it appears to them that James Curry and John Woods who has signed the preceeding certificates are residents of Butler County Ohio and are credible persons and that their statements are entitled to credit.
