NEWS ARTICLE: Home Burned.

Home Burned.  The house on the farm of widow Cage, five miles north-west of this city, was,on last Saturday evening, entirely de-stroyed by fire.  The contents, save onebed, a bureau and a sewing machine, were also consumed.  Mrs. Cage is thewidow of a soldier, killed in the ranks, during the late war, and has, since hercoming to Kansas, worked at plowing and other farm work, to support herselfand family.  Mr. E. J. Robison, of thatneighborhood, was in the city, Monday, with a subscription paper, and we are pleased to state that our citizens re-ponded nobly to the call for funds to as-sist in building another house for thisworthy old lady.  Her neighbors will dothe stone and carpenter work gratuitious-ly.
