Hutchinson Public Library
The Hutchinson public library is indexing the Reno County newspapers. In September we will be indexing the death, marriage and birth announcements listed in the papers. The ones that are being indexed first are the 1880s and early 1900s. This is just an index, they may contact our library for a copy of the article from the newspaper. We do not charge for this service.

more information, or are interested in becoming a member of the Harvey
County Genealogical Society, contact us at

of our first meeting which will be in a few weeks (held in Newton,
Kansas). Include your name and how you would like to be contacted (email,
telephone, or postal mail). Please type "KSHCGS" in the subject line so
your email isn't inadvertently deleted. Out-of-town or out-of-state folks
who are unable to travel to our area, but would like to keep updated on
our progress of forming the society and possibly becoming long-distance
members are welcome to contact us at the same email address and let us
