George M. Coons
George McDonald Coons, 48, former Hutchinson resident who had lived in
Hutchinson for years died Saturday in the Veterans Hospital in Wichita.
Mr. Coons was born August 9, 1910 in Sylvia. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two sons, Don, of Newton and Neal of Wichita; two daughters,
Mrs. Don Shepard of Colby, and Mrs. Norman Tate of Germany; a brother, William
L. of Hutchinson; six sister, Mrs. Nellie Jessup of Parsons, Mrs. Ruth Williams
of Lawrence, Mrs. Hazel Hazell of Althaunt, Mrs. Iva Bargdill of Turon, Mrs.
Edith Josephson of Sylvia, and Mrs. May Thompson of Hutchinson;; and six
grandchildren.
Services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 at the Sylvia EUB Church with Rev.
Raymond officiating. Burial was held in the Sylvia Cemetery with graveside
services by the Sylvia American Legion Post.
Foulk Funeral Home of Turon had charge of arrangements.
