Mrs. Mary J. Greeson Fickes, 89, died Saturday afternoon at the Home of her daughter, Mrs. A. F. Smith, 1425 North Forest st., following an illness of several weeks.  The body was taken to Taberville, Mo., for the funeral and burial.
 
Mrs. Fickes was born June 4, 1846 in North Carolina.  Following her marriage to James Fickes, a Civil war veteran, they moved to Missouri.  For the past four years she has been making her home with her daughter in Hutchinson.
 
Six daughters and one son survive; Mrs. Smith, Mrs. W. H. Floyd, Ada, Tex.; Mrs. Nancy Purintan, Cambridge, Neb.; Mrs. C. F. Clore, Herington; Mrs. George Hays, Independence, Mo.; Mrs. J. H. Purintan, Osawatomie; Otha Fickes, Kay Cree, Wyo.; a brother, J. W. Greeson, Taberville, Mo.; 32 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
