Buford Marine Boo Hayden Obituary
Buford Marine Boo Hayden, 68, died of cancer Oct.
11, 1986, at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md. Born in
Hutchinson April 15, 1918, he was president of the Hutchinson High School
Class of 1936, and attended Dartmouth University, where he earned a degree
in Civil Engineering. In 1948, he became a consultant with the Montgomery
County Planning Office, where he worked on the Beltway, a highway that
surrounds Washington, D.C. He was a partner in the land planning firm of
Mott and Hayden, and in 1963 started his own consulting firm, Hayden and
Benning.
He was a member of Bradley Hills Presbyterian
Church in Bethesda, Md., and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the
Navy.
Survivors: wife, Elizabeth; son, Navy Capt.
William B. Hayden; daughter, Katherine Williams, Novato, Calif., Holly Woltz,
Athens, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may go to the Boo Hayden Memorial Fund,
in care of Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, 6601 Bradley Blvd., Bethesda,
Md., 20817, to be used for the needy of Montgomery County, Md.
