Buford Hayden, 60, 109 East 14th, died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday in the Axtell Christian hospital, Newton.  Mr. Hayden suffered a heart attack Tuesday near Florence while returning from Jacksonville, ILL., where his mother had been seriously ill.  Mrs. Hayden drove her unconscious husband from Florence to Newton before she was able to get medical help.  Mr. Hayden was employed here by the Investors Syndicate, and was formerly with the American National Bank in Hutchinson.
 
Survivors include his widow and a son, Buford Hayden, Jr.

Buford M. Hayden
 
Funeral service for Buford M. Hayden, 60, who died in a Newton hospital late Saturday night after a heart attack, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Christian church with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.  Rev. Roland Huff will officiate.
 
Mr. Hayden was born in Washburn, ILL., May 16, 1889.  He came to Hutchinson in 1912 from Colorado Springs and was with the Exchange National bank for 30 years before joining the Investors Syndicate company three years ago.
 
He was a charter member of the Park Place Christian church, chairman of the board of elders of the church, was a member of Reno Lodge 140 and the Knights Templar., was treasurer of the community Concert association and a member of the YMCA board, having served as president of the board in 1948.
 
Mr. Hayden is survived by his widow, Marie, a son, Buford Jr., Bethesda, Md.; his mother Mrs. Mary Hayden, Jacksonville, ILL.; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Moxon, Jacksonville; and two grandchildren.
