Mrs. E. G. Mitchell Dead Passed Away at Her Home in This City Tuesday Afternoon
The death of Mrs. E. G. Mitchell of this city came as a great shock to the people of this community Tuesday, afternoon. Although she had been ill for some days past, she apparently was improving in health, when the end came suddenly. Ada Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs,. W. S. Clark, was born July 14, 1897. Departed this life at her home in this city, Tuesday, August 1, 1922, aged at the time of her death, 25 years and 18 days, At the age of 16 she united with the Church of Christ at Plevna, Kansas, and was a faithful member till the time of her death. She was graduated from the Arlington high school and the class of 1820. She was an honored member of the Mayflower Chapter, No. 344, O. E. S., of Arlington, Kansas. May 9, 1921, she was united in marriage with Mr. Edwin G. Mitchell of this city. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Mr. Edwin G. Mitchell, two stepsons, Howard, aged 11 and Woodrow, aged 9 to whom she was a faithful wife and mother. She is survived by her father, Mr. W. S. Clark of Arlington; two sisters Mrs. Cora Schnurr, of Guymon, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Henry Ewing of Arlington; four brothers, Hiram of Sardis, Oklahoma; Joe and Guy of Arlington; ;and John, of Hutchinson. She has gone to join her mother and two sisters who departed this life about three years ago, Florence, February 26, 1919, Mattie, February 16, 1920, and her mother March 27, 1920. The funeral service was conducted from the Presbyterian church in this city, Thursday morning at 10:30 by the Rev. Edwin S. Evans. There was a short service at the home conducted by the members of the Eastern Star, of which she was an honored member. The burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.
