Stanley V. Morgan

Stanley V. Morgan, 39, 111 South Plum, died Sunday at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, form injuries received in an explosion Aug. 5 at the Garvey Elevator here. Born Dec. 14, 1935, in Hutchinson, he married Janice Smith June 15, 1957, at Hutchinson. He was a sampler and weigher for the State Grain Inspection Department.

He was a member of the Temple Baptist church and the Moose Lodge

Survivors include the widow; son: Chad, of the home; daughters: Kimberly and Linda, of the home; parents: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. Morgan, 420 East B.

Man burned in blast here dies

Stanley V. Morgan, 39, 111 South Plum, died Sunday at the University of Kansas Medical Center from injuries he received in a grain dust explosion Aug. 5 at the Garvey Elevator, A and Chemical.

Morgan was one of two men who were trapped in the head house when the explosion and flash fire ripped upward through the elevator from the load-out bins below. Morgan and Rojelio Vieyra, 414 Harvey, were airlifted Aug. 6 to the burn treatment unit at the Medical Center.

Morgan was sampler and weigher for the State Grain Inspection Department.

Vieyra has returned to Hutchinson and is recuperating at home.
