Family Suffers Double Tragedy

Raymond Webster, 50 of Odessa, Texas was killed in a plane crash Saturday near San Angelo in South Central Texas. According to witnesses his plane was engaged in a dogfight, when the plane went into a tailspin. He was flying a refurbished Navy T/6. He was in a competition at the San Angelo Air Show. He was a Lt. in the U.S. Marines, a Colonel in the Confederate Air Force, and Wing Leader of the West Texas Section of the Texas Cadet Air Force. He was buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa, Texas.

Raymond's mother passed away of heart failure after hearing that her son had been killed.

SERVICES FOR KALE RAYMOND WEBSTER, 50, OF 2806 E. 21ST IN ODESSA WILL BE AT 10 A.M. TUESDAY IN HIGHLAND METHODIST CHURCH WITH BURIAL AT SUNSET MEMORIAL GARDENS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF HUBBARD KELLY FUNERAL HOME. HE DIED SATURDAY AT SAN ANGELO.

 

MR. WEBSTER WAS BORN JULY 12, 1930 IN HUTCHINSON, KANSAS, AND CAME TO ODESSA IN 1963 FROM HOUSTON. HE MARRIED PEGGY JEAN RANDLES JAN 2, 1951 IN HUTCHINSON. HE WAS A LIEUTENANT IN THE MARINES, A COLONEL IN THE CONFEDERATE AIR FORCE AND WEST TEXAS WING LEADER. HE WAS A PETROLEUM ENGINEER.

 

SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS WIFE; A DAUGHTER, MELANIE KALEEN HUFF OF MIDLAND; A SON, DOUGLAS WAYNE WEBSTER OF ODESSA; HIS MOTHER, FAE WEBSTER OF HUTCHINSON AND A BROTHER, GARY OF PULLMAN, WASHINGTON.
