Clark Students      Clark Teachers

Clark school was established in 1896 on land that was donated across the road from William S Clark in Langdon Township. The records start from 1896 to when the school closed in 1938.

Donna Barnes Clark transcribed the below records. She has the clerk records from 1896-1902 and the students records from 1903-1938, to include their grades, the classes taught, games played, visitors during the year.

Donna has gone through the books and found the teachers for each year and their salaries and how many days they taught. For lookups for the names that are listed - Email Donna.

The clerk records for the board members, include what they paid for different supplies, mainly all they did to keep the school running over the years. If people have any questions about board meetings, etc. Email Donna for the information. Please include the year or time frame for the information you are requesting.

One Donna's cousins that just passed away tried to draw a picture of how the school was arranged inside. He said the students took turns bringing the lunches. Many of Donna's husband's relatives attended this school and two or three of them taught in the school. William S Clark, Donna's husband's Great Grandfather, was the principal. This was due to the fact that he donated the land. He took great interest in education and books. He donated many of the books to start the Arlington Library, but they apparently do not have records of how the library was started. The cousin that drew what the inside of the school looks like said he remembered helping his Grandfather (who he was named after) take the books from the farm house to Arlington.
