Pfc. Jess D. Folk, was killed in action December 17 in the Belgian bulge, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Folk, 933 North Grove, have been notified. Private Folk was first reported missing in action.
The youthful Wichitan was serving with the 424th Infantry of the 106th division. He had been overseas since October, 1944. He entered the service in July, 1943, and received antiaircraft training at Camp Haan, Cal. He was later transferred to the Infantry.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maxine Folk, and two children, Herbie and Deanna of White City; one brother John, and a sister, Jane; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller; and a grandmother, Mrs. Anna Folk, all of Abilene.
