SARAH DEMOCK GOODACRE
Sedgwick County Pioneer
Mrs. Sarah Goodacre, 89, a pioneer of Sedgwick County died Wednesday at her home near Derby. She was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Jacob DeMock and was born at Albia, IA on October 25, 1855. The DeMock’s homesteaded a mile north and two miles east of Derby in 1870. In April of 1875 Sarah DeMock married James Goodacre.
Survivors include daughters: Mrs. Dora Young, Hutchinson; Mrs. Nora Schweitzer, Derby; and Mrs. Martha Corn, Wichita. She also has 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Burial is at the Derby cemetery. Rev. A.G. Wallace officiated. Downing Mortuary holds services
