James Nelson Hanna, 51, widely known plumbing executive, died early Thursday at his home, 1501 N. Holyoke. Mr. Hanna was born Feb. 28, 1902, in El Dorado, Kan., and come to Wichita in 1918. He was owner of the Industrial Plumbing and Heating company.

During World war II Mr. Hanna was captain of "B" company, civil defense auxiliary police. He was a member of the First Evangelical and Reformed church, and was active in the Wichita Independent Business Men’s association, the Y.M.C.A., Kansas Master Plumbers’ association, and Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his wife, Albertine; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Stanley, 2314 West First; sons, James T. Hanna, of the home; Gary D. Hanna, 203 North St. Clair; Airmen First Class Richard L. Hanna, with the air force in Alameda, Calif,; and Charles G. Hanna, 203 North St. Clair; a step-daughter, Mrs. La Verne Craig, 1621 McLean boulevard; step-sons, Eric Davis, Steven Davis and James Davis, all of the home; sisters, Mrs. Margaret Garfield, Lamar, Mo.; Mrs. Inez Schissler, Valley Center; Mrs. Alice Strickler, Eureka, Kan,; and Mrs. Jean VanAresdale, Towanda, Kan.; a brother, Robert G. Hanna Jr., 258 North Sedgwick; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Broadway mortuary chapel, with Rev. James C. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel cemetery. L Pallbearers will be Cleborne Coleman, Howard Cowan, Edwin Pray, Rex Robertson, Virgil Thompson and Roy Yackley.
