Rev. Frank Eddy Madden, 64, widely known Methodist minister died suddenly about 11 o'clock Friday morning in Kingman as he was en route from his home in Kinsley to visit relatives in Wichita. He had been in the ministry for the past 35 years.
Reverend Madden was born on September 12, 1880, in Ridgeville, Ind. He held pastorates in the western part of the United States prior to coming to Kansas in l939 from Salt Lake City. He served as pastor of the Bethany Methodist Church, Harry and Main, for three years.
From 1942 until last October he was minister of the First Methodist Church in Liberal. He has been pastor of the Kinsley Methodist Church the past six months.
Reverend Madden was being accompanied to Wichita by his wife Eugenia, and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise Alexander, when he was stricken. His body was brought to this city by the Broadway mortuary.
Survivors Include his wife: three daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Alexander, Kinsley, Mrs. Sylvia Mitchell and Mrs. Ann Winn, Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, J. Hayward Madden, Livonia, N. Y., Charles Francis Madden, 730 Kansas Court, and David E. Madden, Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Fred S. and Arthur Madden, Rockford, Ill., and six grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Broadway mortuary.
