A. W. Mitchell
Dies at Age of 80
Alfred Wickliff Mitchell, 80, of 849 N. Hillside, a retired druggist, died Thursday at his home.
Mr. Mitchell was born Aug. 22, 1880, at Campbellsville, Ky., and had been a resident of Wichita for 56 years. He moved here from Mammoth Spring, Ark. He had been in the drug business for 50 years.
He married Cora A. Pilliar Dec. 1, 1901, at West Plains, Mo. The couple attended College Hill Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to the wife, include four sons, Frank, Compton, Calif., Gordon C., 6202 E. Orme, Wallace, 2030 Lulu, and Robert, 646 Chipper Lane, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Downing Mortuary. The Rev. Hugh Morris, associate pastor of College Hill Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.
