Agnes Elizabeth Rogers, 98, of 809 N. Edgemoor, died Sunday morning at the home of a daughter after an illness of nine months.

Born Aug. 28, 1859 in Racine, Wis., she had been a resident of Wichita the past 20 years, coming here from Winfield, Kan. She was a graduate of Wheaton Academy, Wheaton, Ill. She came to Sterling, Kan. In 1885 and taught school there until her marriage to Thomas A. Rogers June 14, 1888, at Sterling. He died in 1924.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, a member of the Grandmothers Club, the WCTU and active in many women’s organizations in the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. R. B. Jamison, 809 N. Edgemoor, and Mrs. John Lawler, Chicago, Ill.; a son, P. B. Rogers, Austin, Tex.; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cochran Mortuary. The Rev. James W. Teener and the Rev. Wilmer N. Thornburg will officiate. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery.
