Dr. Robert E. Treke1l of the medical corps of the U. S. naval reserve, son of Mrs. Mae Trekell, Wellington, died of acute therapeutic poisoning on April 22, and was interred in Allied territory outside the limits of the United States, the navy department has notified relatives.

Dr. Trekell was stationed as one of four medics aboard the new SS Drake, assault personnel amphibious transport which carried marines to Okinawa. He had just returned to port after being aboard ship with a load of wounded men when he was stricken, the announcement said.

The naval lieutenant was graduated from the Wellington high school and Kansas university medical school, entering military services in February, 1944. He served his internship at the naval hospital at Farragot, Ida., receiving his commission there. He received his orders for overseas duty last November 23, and had been in the South Pacific area for five months

Before leaving the states he was married to Dorothy Hathaway of Kansas City, Mo. He is survived by his wife, his mother, and two sisters, Mrs. Jean Little of Washing ton, D. C., and Mrs. Dorothy Taggart, Lebanon, Mo.
