Ellis Delmar Corrick

ELLIS DELMAR6 CORRICK (ANDREW JACKSON5, GEORGE4, FREDRICK3, JOHN GASPER2, JOHN1) was born April 09, 1864 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa, to Andrew Jackson and Margaret Ann (BRUCE) CORRICK. Ellis was their first of four children (Frank Perley, Rosina, and Olive).

He married (1) ANNIE BELL BYRNE3 February 15, 1887 in Mitchell County, KS. She was born March 24, 1872 in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri, daughter of ZACHERY BYRNE and LUCY AYERS. She died August 20, 1920, in Sheridan Co, Kansas, from acute cholecyattrs pancrestitis. She was buried August 20, 1920, in Bethel Cemetery, Sheridan County, Kansas. He married (2) CORA DUNCAN 1927 in Sheridan County, Kansas. Cora was born in 1875. She died in 1941, in Sheridan County, KS, and was buried in the Bethel Cemetery, Sheridan County, Kansas.

He lived in Saline Township, Sheridan, Kansas, for about 5 years and Grainfield, Gove, Kansas, in 1920.

Ellis was a farmer and businessman, he was also the founder of Corrickville Kansas. All that is left of this once booming little town is a dirt road.

Ellis Corrick died December 04, 1939, from a stroke, during a house fire, in Quinter, Gove County, Kansas, at the age of 75. He was buried December 07, 1939 at Bethel Cemetery, Sheridan County, near Corrickville, Kansas. Funeral services were held at The Bethel Christian Church near the Cemetery. Ellis donated this land for the church and cemetery, the Corrick family plot is in the center of the cemetery.
