Leota Troutman Mason, daughter of Ezra and Sarah Sheets Troutman, was born May 27,1902 on the family homestead northwest of South Haven, Kans. She died Friday, July 3, 1970 in a Winfield, Kans. hospital following a lingering illness.
She was united in marriage with Glee Mason, June 7, 1922. They reared their three children on farms in the Corbin and South Haven communities. She had been an active member of the South Haven United Methodist church until ill health forced her inactivity.
Survivors include her husband, Glee; two sons, Melvin, South Haven, Marvin, Odessa, Texas; a daughter Mrs.(Mildred) Kralicek, Independence, Missouri; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and many friends.
Services were held in the South Haven United Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. James Little officiated. Soloist, Mrs. Charles Gile was accompanied by organist, Miss Delvaglune Kilmer as she sang "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art." Ushers were Merve Cottle and Roy Fox. Casketbearers were Stanley Boatright, Harold Crow, J.W. Zimmerman, Jack Biggerstaff, Carl Creed, Wallace Rogers.
