Edward Nulik, well known Teeter Oil Co., employee, was dead at the scene of the accident on the second curve just north of Caldwell. The accident happened about 11:30 Wednesday when the fully loaded gasoline truck failed to straighten out after rounding the curve heading north. The truck got on soft shoulder on the right side of the road and went into the ditch and flipped over. Mr. Nulik was pinned in the wreckage until truck was pulled off him.

Edward Nulik Rites Held Here Saturday

Final Rites were held Saturday, November 28, at 2 p.m., for Edward Woodrow Nulik, 54, at the First United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Norman Nettleton and Rev. Charles Boshell officiating.

Mr. Nulik was killed Wednesday about 11:30 p.m., when the gasoline tank truck he was driving failed to make the second curve just north of Caldwell. The truck went into the ditch on the right side of the road and flipped over. Mr. Nulik was pinned under the truck until the heavy vehicle could be rolled over. He lived for a short time but was DOA at District Hospital. The truck was loaded with fuel, but did not leak on turning over and did not catch fire. The truck was badly damaged.

Mr. Nulik had been an employee of Teeter Oil Co., and the J. C. Bobek Oil Co., former owners of Teeter Oil Co., for 26 years.

Mr. Nulik was born in the Caldwell area and had been a resident since birth. He was born February 6, 1916, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Nulik. His father died in 1943.

He was married March 24, 1940, to Thelma Dorothy Rains. To this union were born two children, Priscilla Nulik Pierce of Nashville, Tenn., and a son Donald of Derby, Kansas. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Agnes Nulik of Caldwell; three brothers, Carl of Arkansas City, Joe of Caldwell and Ivan of Anthony; five sisters, Gladys Metz of Wichita, Algie Smrcka of Renfrow,Okla., Edna Krenek of Caldwell, Lorraine Fogleman of Amarillo, Texas, and Lydia Ann Salisbury of Carile, PA.

Mr. Nulik was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Organist was Burton Tidwell and soloist was Gordon Garver. Bearers were Merle Blakely, Cecil Mitchell, Paul Scribner, Vernie Lebeda, Ted Detrick, Bob Elmore, Gerald Cobal, Edwin Bruey.

Honorary Bearers were Merle Blakely, Cecil Mitchell, Paul Scribner, Vernie Lebeda, Ted Detrick, Bob Elmore, Gerald Cobal, Joe Lebeda.

Interment was in Caldwell City Cemetery, directed by Schaeffer Mortuary.
