Mr. Cummings was a kind & loving husband & father, a good faithful man in all his Daily life, helpful to his neighbors whenever the occasion came. He was very patient in his last illness & realized that he was dying but was not afraid to go. He did not suffer pain & on the last moments he said to his son, Edward, I am going to die. Cant you see my beautiful home? He quietly passed away at 7: 30 oclock Saturday evening. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon & the body was buried in WaKeeney Cemetery. The sympathy of many friends are extended to the bereaved loved ones.
The relatives from away who were here to attend the funeral were Mrs. Effie Mock, La Prairie, Ill., Earl Cummings, Freeport, Ill. & Lovell Cummings, Holly, Colo. Joe Cummings, of Stewart, Iowa, visited his father a week before he passed away.
