Obituary of ELSIE BRADSHAW BEGGS
Elsie Bradshaw Beggs, 86, Great Bend, died Sunday, October 7, 2001, at Central Kansas Medical Center - St. Rose Campus, Great Bend.

She was born May 14, 1915 at Stanberry, Mo., the daughter of William C. and Mary E. Gound Bradshaw.

Elsie graduated from high school at Fairbury, Nebraska.

She married Philip H. Beggs, July 2, 1939 at Morrowville. He preceded her in death August 6, 1981.

Elsie was a homemaker, living in Great Bend since 1969, coming from Hays. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, U. M. W. Stephens Ministries, Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, Fanshier-Beggs Circle, all of Great Bend, and D.A.R. of Great Bend and Hays.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Bradshaw; and two sisters, Corine Bradshaw and Hazel Leonard.

Survivors include three daughters, Judith Pierson, Denver, Colorado, Mary Ritterhouse, San Antonio, Texas, and Phyllis Bieker, Hays; a brother, Robert Bradshaw, Oxnard, California; a sister Frances Carlson, Columbus, Nebraska; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 10, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Great Bend, with Rev. Dick Near and Rev. Jana Baxter officiating.

Interment will be at Washington Cemetery, Washington.  A memorial fund has been established at the First United Methodist Church.
