Obituary of HUBERT B. STEINERT
Hubert B. Steinert, 85, Great Bend, died Tuesday, December 25, 2001, at Via Christi-St Francis, Wichita.

He was born, September 6, 1916, in Russell County, the son of Emanuel and Lydia Wittman Steinert.
He married Dorothy H. McGinness on July 28, 1946, at Auine. She survives.

He was in furniture sales and service, retiring from Andy's TV and Appliance, Great Bend.

He was a veteran of World War II service as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post No. 3111, and Noon Lion's club, all of Great Bend.

He was preceded in death by: one brother, Leland Steinert; and one stepbrother, Louis Steinert (Second obituary added "and one step brother, Louis Steinert).
Survivors include: his wife of the home; two daughters, Nancy Lee Carroll, Great Bend, and Mary Jane Sargent, Jacksonville, Fla; one brother, Leo Steinert, Great Bend; one stepsister living in California; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 28, at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Great Bend, with Rev. D. Kevin Baxter officiating.

Internment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend.

Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm Thursday, December 27, and from 9 am to noon, Friday, December 28.

Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army, or Gideons International.

Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, is in charge of arrangements.
