Obituary of VIRGINIA M. HERMAN
Virginia M. Herrman, 75, Gorham, died Monday, December 31, 2001, at Russell Regional Hospital, Russell.

She was born November 24, 1926, at Emmeram, to August and Marie Alway Weigel, Sr.

She married Edward J. Windholz, May 27, 1946 at Emmeram. He died August 15, 1958. She married Raymond Herrman, July 31, 1970, at Hays.

She was an LPN at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays, for 12 years and retired in 1980.

She was a graduate of Victoria High School, Victoria, and St. Francis School of Nursing, Wichita. She had lived in Gorham since 1981, moving from Hays.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella, both of Gorham, and the Victoria VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, her first husband; four brothers, Francis, Gilbert, August, Jr., and Eugene Weigel; and three sisters, Olga Montgomery, Delorest Ralston, and Catherine Murray.

Survivors include: her husband of the home; three sons, Wayne Windholz, Russell, Kenneth Windholz, Gorham, and Kevin Herrman, Abilene; four daughters, Lois Koerner, Hays, Christine Heit, Hays, Lynette Herrman, Gorham, Colleen Kasson Kechi; two brothers, Albinus Weigel, Hays, and Eugene Weigel, Gorham; two sisters, Bernice Rupp, Hays, and Mary Zimmerman, Russell; 29 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 3, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gorham, with Fr.Charles Steier and Sr. Mary Jo Trummel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Gorham.

A Victoria VFW Auxiliary memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m. and a Gorham Daughters of Isabella rosary at 7:30 p.m. all at Cline's Mortuary, Victoria.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church, or masses.
