Obituary of LAURA AMMEN MEYER |
Obituary-Meyer Laura Ammen was born at Valley Falls, Kan., Nov. 5, 1861, died at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Christina Green, near Valley Falls, Dec. 13, 1922, aged 61 years, 1 mo, and 8 days. She united in marriage with Joseph Antone Meyer, Dec. 31, 1878 and to them were born 11 children. The first born died in infancy, the remaining ten are all grown, and were at the bedside of their mother when the death angel came to call her from earthly care and suffering. She united with the church of the Brethren 9 years ago and found much pleasure in the new life. As a companion and mother she was loving and dependable, and will be missed mostly by her ten children three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were conducted from the church of the Brethren, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m., with Rev. H. L. Brammell in charge. Interment was made at Meriden. "Dear Lord, thou hast taken our loved one From among us on this earth below; Oh, hasten to soothe by thy merciful love, The dear hearts who miss her so."
