Obituary of J. DILLARD CALVIN
J. Dillard Calvin, a retired, well known Linn County, Kansas farmer and stockman died at St. Lukes Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, February 14, 1974. He was 93 years old. 

Born in Paris, Illinois, October 13, 1880 to Jackson and Elmira Calvin, the family came to Linn County, Kansas when he was four years old and settled at Trading Post, Kansas. 

February 21, 1906 he and Ina Shattuck, daughter of W.H. and Mary Shattuck, were married. They established their home on a farm not far from where Mrs. Calvin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Shattuck, who homesteaded the farm where Mrs. Calvin was born and raised. With in a few years Mr. and Mrs. Calvin became owners of the farm and acquired additional acreage. They then moved to Pleasanton, Kansas then built before coming to Butler in 1964. 

Survivors include one son: Dale D. Calvin of Miami, Florida; three daughters, Marjorie Calvin of Butler, Mrs. F.B. (Mildred) Coffin of Bridgeton, New Jersey, and Mrs. J.F. (Muriel) Volkay of Oakland, California and one sister, Mrs. Walter Hiatt of Independence, Kansas and two grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Sunday February 17, 1974 at 2 p.m. at the Underwood Steinback Chapel, Butler, Missouri. Interment was made in the LaCygne, Kansas cemetery.
