Obituary of EMILY E. SMITH ROBERTS THOMAS |
Emily E Smith was born in Peru, (Miami Co) Indiana,
December 5, 1844. On December 28, 1865, she married George W Roberts, who
soon after their marriage moved to Iowa.
She was left a widow with four children, three boys and one girl. On January 30, 1879, in Harden county, Iowa, she was married to George Thomas; four children, two boys and two girls blessed this union. All the children are alive and live in Phillips county, Kansas. On March 1, 1879, George Thomas and his family settled on a claim 10 miles west of Phillipsburg. About two years ago the family moved to Phillipsburg. Last October Mrs Thomas was taken sick, from which she never recovered,
and on
June 2, 1900, at 7:30 she passed over the river of death to her reward.
All her life she has been a hard-working woman. During the war she was one
of the girls who was at home and worked the farm while her father and
brothers went to the war. CARD OF THANKS MY NOTES |
