Obituary of GEORGE THOMAS |
GEORGE THOMAS DEAD George Thomas, father of Mrs. Leroy Taylor died at the Taylor home, 706 west 1st street, Saturday. Rev William Kilburn will conduct services at the Taylor home Wednesday at two o'clock. The body will be taken Thursday morning to Phillipsburg, Kansas, for burial. George Thomas was born in Cornwall, England, September 1st, 1858, and was 69 years, 2 months and 4 days old at his death.Members of the bereaved family are remembered in much sympathy in this sorrow and loss. George Thomas, an early settler and one of the real pioneers of
Phillips County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs LeRoy Taylor, at
McCook, Nebraska, Saturday, November 5, 1927. The deceased was born in
Cornwell, England, and came to America with his parents when a small
child, the family locating at Hazel Green, Wisconsin. CARD OF THANKS George Thomas was born in Cromwell, England, and died November 5, 1927, at McCook, Nebr. When a small child he came to America with his parents, they locating at Hazel Green, Wisconsin. In 1879 he married Emily Roberts, then making move to Kansas. To them four children were born, G E, of Kalispell, Mont, A W of this city, Mrs LeRoy Taylor, McCook, Nebr, and Mrs Emma Hacker, of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild, many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral was conducted from the Presbeyrtian church here November 10, by Rev. Hart, with interment in Fairview cemetery. George Thomas was born in Cornwall, England. When a small child he came to America with his parents, settling in Bowling Green, Wisconsin. In 1879 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Emily Roberts, after which
they moved to Kansas. To this union four children were born, all of whom
survive him. They are: G E Thomas, Kalispel, Montana; A W Thomas,
Phillipsburg, Kansas; Mrs L Taylor, McCook, Neb., and Mrs Emma Hacker, of
Colorado Springs. There are fifteen grand Death took place November 5th at the home of his daughter Mrs L Taylor,
